About me

My legal name is private.
From my socials and Substack, you will know me as Z. Wolff, but I plan to publish as Joe A. Wolff.
I'm a demigirl/enby (they/she), lesbian, neurodivergent, and disabled writer.
Born in 2004 in Germany.I write a lot of poetry, essays, and short stories.
The themes I mostly use are mental health, family dynamics, and love in lesbianism.

Vision and Mission

My vision is to publish (more) books in the future and, hopefully, achieve a small side income through my passion.
Projects are further below.My mission is to help others.
Let readers feel understood and less lonely, hoping I can validate their feelings and experiences.
Especially my poetry features many deep, sensitive topics involving trauma of different types.

Educational Background

Due to many health and financial issues, I have never been able to get a better graduation than the German Hauptschule/High School (secondary school — 5th to 9th grade).Ever since, I have focused on my mental & physical health and my writing. Soon I will be in the process of studying for a better school diploma.

Author Background

My first book (an English poetry collection) was published back in 2023.
In early 2024 I published my second book, a German short-story collection.In the middle of 2024, I published a new version of the poetry book.
I stopped the distribution of all versions of those books.In October 2025, my short story ’I Love You, Buddy’ and my poem ’Cherishing The Things I Can’t Change Or Choose’ got published in the anthology ’Midnight Thoughts’ by Keres Publishing.All those past projects were published as Ziggy Wolff, now I’ve done a rebrand. Future publications will have run under Joe A. Wolff.My most read essay talked about the reasons we still need Pride & Christopher Street Days.

Projects

Current projects are:My WIP ’MW’, an autofiction novella.
It falls under coming-of-age; the focus lies on mental health and queerness. The main character struggles with C-PTSD and GAD while she tries to escape a judgmental and hateful small town.My WIP ’M&M’, a poetry collection.
The focus lies on healing, love, and mental health (trauma). Half of the poems focus on lesbianism and self-love.Multiple planned essays and the translation (+ uploads) of my German short stories.Below you can find a PDF file of 3 poems, 2 short stories, and a snippet of my latest essay.
